Nurse-Run Clinics 

Our practice nurse Sharron Pettitt RGN,  can be seen at varying times Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Ask at reception for times. The Nurses work includes the following:

• New Patient and NHS Health Checks
• Warfarin Blood Tests and Blood Pressure Checks
• Cervical Smears
• Adult / Child / Travel Vaccinations
• Childhood Immumisations
• Ear Syringing
• Stitch Removal and Dressings
• Asthma and COPD
• Diabetes Care
• ECG's
• Smoking Cessation
• Advice on diet, smoking, lifestyle and other general matters.

We employ a Healthcare Assistant who can take your blood pressure, check urine samples, offer smoking cessation advice, do wound care and dressings, carry out New Patient Checks and health checks, and this will relieve some of the pressure from our Nurses. When making appointments for any of the above please make an appointment with Emma.

Other Services

Childhood Immunisations

You will be sent a card by the hospital when your child is due for a vaccination. This clinic is held on Thursdays between 2:30 and 3:30pm. Please telephone for an appointment. Please remember it is never too late to catch up on missed injections - please ask.

Cervical Smears

We encourage women to have regular cervical smears. Most of these are carried out by the practice nurses, however if you prefer you can see a doctor who will perform the procedure. Smears are carried out every 3 years for ages 25yrs-49yrs and every 5 years for ages 50yrs-64yrs. The result of your smear will be posted to you.

Minor Surgery

Dr. Khalil undertakes a minor surgery clinic including joint injections,sigmoidoscopies on a Thursday morning if advised by a Doctor.

Test Results

Please either telephone or call in at the surgery for test results (e.g. blood, X-ray, swabs etc) after mid-day any weekday.

General Enquiries

If you need to see a doctor or nurse regarding the results of your tests, it is best to telephone in the morning (not a Monday if possible) and leave a message with reception so that the doctor or nurse can call you back, usually after the end of surgery. If the matter is urgent, please express this to reception and we will try and help.

Non NHS Services

The Doctors carry out private medical examinations by appointment, including driving, sporting and pre-employment needs, they also provide private certificates and reports. There is a charge payable for these services.
